Beaches

If there is something that is really characteristic of Formentera are its beaches. The coast of this island has some of the best beaches in Europe, as confirmed by the thousands of tourists who enjoy its waters every summer.

Following there is a list of some of the best beaches on the island.:

Illetes:

The beaches of Illetes are located at the point more to the North of the island, and the nearest to the of Espalmador’s island, (just 150 m away), they are the most visited and the most popular. You can access this area with any vehicle.
The area of Illetas is one of the most comprehensive in regards to leisure activities: water sports (sailing, sky, etc.), restaurants…

Llevant:

It is situated in the northern tip of the island, but in the area of levante. Near Illetas and therefore quite busy, due to its length you can find quiet and solitary sites.

Cala Saona:

This small beach, despite its short extension, (just 200 m of length), is one of the most beautiful that you can visit. Its quiet and characteristic beauty make this beach a must-see for tourist site.

Migjorn:

Of Migjorn beach it is said that it is one of the largest of the island, since its stretch of sand covers much of the southern coast of the island, almost from La Mola, until Cap de Barbaria. Its great extension make this beach one of the less busy, and therefore, one of the quietest island.

Es Pujols

Es Pujols beach is formed by sections of beach alternate with stretches of low rock which are the fishermen’s huts where they keep their boats.
You can see small Islands, offering beautiful views from the opposite the beach. Quiet beach for the enjoyment of the entire family. There is also a ramp and wheelchair adapted for handicapped person.

S’arenal

Beach sand mixed with tiny shells that drags the sea and with a gentle swell, that differ it from the rest of beaches in Formentera.
Situated in the area of Migjorn, it has catering services and water sports.
